4TH INTERNATIONAL DARICA SHORT FILM COMPETITION
Application Requirements
• This competition is organized throughout Turkey and is open to everyone over the age of 15. • A person can only apply with one work. • Anyone aged 15 and above can apply. • Only individual applications will be accepted. Applications on behalf of a class, school, institution, etc. will be deemed invalid. • Participation in the competition is free of charge. • The competition includes short films on the theme “Family and Artificial Intelligence.” All fictional, documentary, and animation films on this theme will be considered. • The script must be based on an original idea and not be plagiarized. • Films submitted to the competition must not have been published or received any awards before. If a film is found to be previously published or copied, it will be disqualified. If such films make it to the finals, they will be removed and replaced with entries from the reserve list. • Films must comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, the Basic Law of National Education, the core objectives of Turkish National Education, public morality, societal peace, and the structure of the Turkish family. Entries failing to meet these conditions will not be evaluated. • Darica District Governorship reserves the right to make necessary changes and final decisions on matters not included in the implementation procedures during the competition process. These changes are final and cannot be contested. • Productions that violate Turkish broadcasting laws, international agreements, insult any nation, country, or religion, include propaganda, promote violence, war, drug use, or violate public morality or ethics will not be accepted. Such submissions will not be evaluated. • The film owner accepts full legal responsibility regarding copyright. Any copyright issues arising from non-original text, images, music, etc., used in the short films are the sole responsibility of the film owner. • The producer and director (film owner) are responsible for obtaining explicit consent from all individuals whose identities may be revealed in the film, in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and related regulations. • Applicants must complete their applications via the official website by July 25, 2025. They must declare that all footage and sounds used in their films are original and that actors gave explicit consent. • Subtitles in English are mandatory for domestic applications, and Turkish subtitles are required for international applications. • If the conditions listed above are not met, the film will not be evaluated. • Before the announcement of results, Darica District Governorship reserves the right to cancel or postpone the competition without providing any reason. • Participation in the competition indicates full acceptance of these terms.
Technical Requirements
• Films must not exceed 10 minutes, including credits. • Films can be fiction, documentary, experimental, or animation, provided they align with the theme. • Applications will only be accepted via the official website. Other formats will not be accepted. • Films must be in MP4 format. • The resolution must be 1920×1080 pixels. • Films may be shot using a phone camera or digital camera. • Applications must be made via the internet (website). • Applications not complying with these requirements will not be evaluated.
Publication and Copyright
•Copyright for all submitted works remains with the creator regardless of placement. With consent, Darica District Governorship reserves the right to publish, distribute, and exhibit these works. •Participants are deemed to have accepted all terms of the Darica Short Film Specification. •For matters not specified in the terms or for resolving disputes, the authority rests with Darica District Governorship. •Submitted films will be archived by Darica District Governorship. •The participant declares full ownership of the submitted work. Any legal issues due to plagiarism are the responsibility of the participant. •If a winning participant is found to have violated any declarations, the prize and all benefits will be withdrawn. •Darıca District Governorship is not responsible for any disputes between the creator and third parties regarding copyright or moral rights. •In case of violation of intellectual property, all legal, administrative, and financial liabilities rest with the participant. •If a submitted work is found to be copied or not original, all legal consequences rest with the participant. In such a case, even if awarded, the prize will be revoked, and the participant must refund any payment within 10 days upon first request. •Participants who do not claim their prize within 10 days of the award ceremony will forfeit their rights. •The participant is responsible for all legal issues arising from use of non-original content, text, design, image, or music in the work.

This year, the Darica Short Film Competition invites filmmakers to explore the impact of technology on family relations under the theme “Family and Artificial Intelligence – Changing Family Values Through Technology.” How is AI reshaping parenting roles? How is communication between generations evolving? How are love, trust, and connection shaped in the digital age?
